The heart has been thought of as fragile, powerful, forgiving, loving…in other words, as unique as the bearer. Enjoy this one day project oriented workshop where you’ll express whatever emotions you choose in creating original heart shaped sun-catchers to hang individually, or create a whimsical vertical streamer or horizontal banner. Make one elaborate, over-the-top design to treasure, or several whimsical pieces to spread the love (or other message!). Utilizing transparent, opal, and sparkling dichroic glass, as well as a variety of accessory glass, you’re only limited by your imagination.

While glass cutting experience is helpful, there will be an overview of cutting and grinding techniques and practice time before beginning your projects. I’ll also have a selection of pre-cut components to mix and match. This is a fun class whether you’re already working with glass or simply want to enjoy an afternoon of creative play. Your hearts will be fired and ready for pick up before Valentine’s Day.

All tools and supplies are provided. Class size is limited to four students for plenty of individual instruction. You’ll be working in Valerie’s studio in Santa Rosa. VALERIE ADAMS has attended professional residencies at the prestigious Pilchuck Glass School and was invited to take the Dealer’s Forum class at Bullseye Glass. Her graphic design background has translated seamlessly to her glass art where many of the same principles of color, balance, and focus apply.
