This intensive, hands-on workshop will cover the design, carving, and production techniques developed by Lynne Meade over the last twelve years. We will start with a slide show of carved pieces with a discussion of design principles. Then learn how to quickly and easily draw a grid on three dimensional and round pieces. This makes mapping out symmetrical designs a breeze. We will then learn specific carving techniques and finally move on to etching on pots with varnish. Once I show students the basic techniques, I work with each person individually to get them working with the techniques correctly. By the end of the workshop each student should have an understanding of the techniques and at least one finished piece.

 *You’ll want to have 3 thickly thrown or hand built, bone dry pieces, preferably in porcelain.
