Patty Gray is one of the best and most experienced fused glass instructors in the country, and luckily for all of us, she is also a local artist working in the Seattle area. We are very happy to welcome Patty back to Northwest Art Glass as a visiting artist.
Patty will cover many aspects of glass fusing in this workshop such as combing and manipulating glass in the kiln, working with mosaics, high fire projects, pot melts/pours, vitrograph, bas relief and frit cast objects for inclusion into the final project. Students will also work with surface design techniques using frits, powders, stringers, metals, mica powders, frit painting, and dichroic glass. Students will also have the option of working with a glass blower to make a roll up of one of their panels for an additional charge of approximately $100.00. You will have the opportunity to make several projects including panels, a glass bowl, and plates. Students will learn many coldworking techniques, from cutting fused pattern bars on a saw, to edge working and grinding using horizontal flat lap machines. This workshop is filled with projects, techniques, equipment and ideas that will open a new world of possibilities. Don’t miss the great opportunity to take your fused glass knowledge to the next level with a master instructor and artist.
